The loss of Booger the pit bull terrier was almost more than Bernann McKinney could stand.
I cost her $50,000.00 dollars and she had to sell her house but Bernann McKinney has got 5 baby pit bull terriers direct clones from her Pit Bull Terrier that passed on, named Booger.
But at what cost? It is so hard to clone a dog because of problems that we have yet to overcome. Many, even hundreds of surrogate mother dogs have been used and then tossed in the dead dog pile trying to produce a litter of cloned dogs that will be able to survive.
Dogs are so hard to clone that a major company in Marin County in Northern California decided to close it’s doors because so many dogs we killed in the process of cloning.
And there is the question of how long they will live. Dogs that manage to survive don’t live long, maybe a few years at best. Why? Because the DNA that is used is usually old DNA and old DNA is all used up and not good for bringing life into the world.
Think twice about this before you go after it. Cloning is not there yet. Maybe someday but not now..
